Simon Adingra has completed a transfer to Ajax Amsterdam. The Ivory Coast international, a Right to Dream Academy graduate, left Sunderland to join the Dutch giants on a season-long loan deal with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign. This move follows a difficult spell at Sunderland and a loan spell at AS Monaco in Ligue 1 last season. Adingra expressed his excitement about joining a club where the style of play fits his attributes. He hopes to replicate the impact made by Mohammed Kudus, his former Right to Dream Academy teammate, who enjoyed a highly successful three-year spell at Ajax, scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists in 87 appearances across all competitions, while helping Ajax win two Eredivisie titles and the Dutch Cup. His impressive performances earned him a move to the English Premier League, where he joined West Ham United before securing a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the 2025/26 season. Adingra will now hope Ajax can provide a similar platform for him to rediscover his best form and follow in the footsteps of Kudus by becoming another African star to make a significant impact at the Amsterdam-based club.
